Idea development Emcee

When thinking about my design for the Emcee in relation to club culture i don't want the images to look drag in any way, i feel that this is a very safe and for this character historical way of portraying the Emcee as shown in the original Cabaret film the characterisation is very femininely made up the Emcee is a character that explores sexual freedom.

In modern day and within Club culture i feel that gay, male fashion is much more interesting to explore and further the ambiguity between male and female, that androgens popularity within fashion today and further within the club scene. I have created an initial mood board exploring these ideas including both females and males although my model will be male. I like that within these images they have elements of females that make the image feminine but not drag even the the middle image were the model has eye make up on the application of the makeup i feel is important.

I want to explore this idea further of andorgony within makeup and how application of makeup can change the way its viewed.
