We were allowed to express ourselves creatively within this session witch was something i enjoyed, i was surprised about my final outcome as during the process i was being very free with the colour choice and shapes i was making at some points i was unsure what i was doing as shown in the first image on the left compared to the image on the right the development on brush strokes. I feel the overall final outcome was not successful as i was just using her face like a canvas were as i feel i should have taken into consideration her features and then maybe it would have worked better but i found a small section on the cheek that i was very happy with this section i visually found successful i liked the layering of colours and textures i had created. The Aqua colours were very easy to work with using then with water was easy and although created the same texture a flatness on the skin to gain any other texture i had to use a eye brow comb.
Jackson Polark was another artist Lottie suggested for us to have a look to for inspiration, the textural element within his work creates a layering of paint creating thickness and depth to the paintings. Jackson's colour choice in the painting below 'Convergence' 1952 is also very clever the underling darkness within the composition compared to the bright colours in the foreground creates a feeling of intertwining depth and combined with the white patches breaks up the overall composition.
